This is why. I think that all the time. This is why the kids act this way. This is why I am no longer married. This is why I am broke. This is why my pants don't fit as well as they did six months ago. This is why is the observation that catches me, stops me in my tracks momentarily and helps me reflect. It helps me consider what I am doing. It helps me appreciate what is happening. This is why.
I think it is refreshing to have a "this is" to all the "why" events in life. Think about how many times something happens and you have, or claim to have, no idea why. And sometimes if you do have an idea, it is either hidden deep in your subconscious or you are unwilling to admit that you know the why. It's like the person who is flying down the highway at 78, texting and sipping coffee that is too hot for human consumption, wondering "why me!" when they get pulled over by the state's finest and are issued a nice tax bill in the form of a moving violation. The obvious why is that they were **breaking the law, breaking the law** But perhaps the other reason is that someone was looking out for them and sent the copper to wake them up. Who knows? But I think it's good to look at events sometimes and try to figure out why.
A great deal of change has come my way in the past couple of years. An I'm not talking about Alhambra bottle filling coinage. Some of these changes have been good, some have been awful, but all have had a lesson. A "this is why." I love it when I can crack the code on these little life lessons. I will try to keep doing so.
